




Bio
Kate Walker (she/her) is a dance artist, dance educator, and yoga instructor based in the Washington DC NOVA area. Originally from Lexington, Ky, Kate has danced for 20 years studying a variety of dance forms.

Kate is 2019 alumna of the Kentucky Performing Arts Governor's School for the Arts (GSA). In 2020, she graduated from The School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA) as a ballet major. Kate earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance, summa cum laude, and minor in Interdisciplinary Arts (Arts Administration focus) from the University of Kentucky. She was awarded the competitive Gaines Fellowship where she conducted research entitled, “The Intersection of Kinesthetic Empathy and Observation in Concert Dance Performance.”

Kate is currently a performing company member of Jane Franklin Dance Company, under the direction of Jane Franklin and Gin Dance Company, under the direction of Shu-Chen Cuff. She is a passionate educator. Kate currently teaches dance to children ages 3-9. Kate is a YogaFit certified Level 1 and 2 yoga instructor and thrives in creating accessible and playful yoga and chair yoga classes for people of all ages and abilities. ​
