An Exploration of Creative Movement Practice for People with Parkinson's Disease
BA in Dance Senior Capstone

An Exploration on Creative Movement Practice for People with Parkinson's Disease was a semester long research project devoted to bringing accessible, safe, and intentional creative movement workshops to Parkinson's disease communities in Lexington, Kentucky. This project was rooted in research on the role of dopamine in the body of those living with Parkinson's disease (PD) and the intersections this has with studies on creativity and PD. The Creative Movement for Parkinson's disease events expand on traditional medical interventions fostering creativity and storytelling as vehicles of engagement, joy, and growth. This project was the culminating research of my senior thesis as a dance major at the University of Kentucky.
